she is my lover and I am her spirit

I was in New York last weekend again and went to the New York Comic-Con. It was really nice actually, and wasn’t nearly as filled with negative geek energy (aka awkward teens dressed as Inuyasha) as San Diego. I did see a lot of dudes just walking around with swords which is always interesting. Anyway, I was standing around and this guy walks right by me. Before my brain can shut my mouth up I run over (this guy was sprinting) to him and say hey, can I take a picture of your tattoo? I’m not going to lie, this was a new sentence for me.

He was a local guy, did this right after you-know-when.

I always wondered about getting a tattoo but would be worried it would be passe. Or would be one of those tastes that change over time, like when you listened to the Fat Boys at age 15 but now it’s Smooth Jazz 105.zzzzz at age 60. Somehow I got the feeling though that this guy would never think that.

will go directly to the gymnasium

This week me and Mike did a thing at a local school (St. Gabriel’s in Mentor) called Superman Day — they all dressed up in capes and did artwork, poems, and essays. It was very cool, but pretty nerve-wracking. I worked on my PowerPoint like it was going up into space. I wouldn’t last ten seconds in a 7th grade class. Here’s some pictures, above is a video.

The best part was some kid came in early and asked for my autograph and said “are you the guy who created Superman?” One “I wish” later he showed me his art piece (I think it was Superman with a Wiimote) and I told him to sign that instead.

The girls all gave themselves great names like “MegaMeganGirl” and “Super Highlight Girl” (she had really vibrant highlights).

I look like Seacrest in a Dali painting.

You just know this kid loved wearing that black cape all day.
